Showa Corporation was founded by two Australian friends, Andrew and Mitch, whose shared love of Japanese cars and culture led them to start a business together.

The History of Showa
The Showa brand was founded in 2017 as a car photography project, primarily based on Instagram and Facebook. This grew to an internationally-selling car accessory and apparel online store.
After years of growth on social media, we started Showa Corporation in 2022 with the goal of offering quality vehicles to people both in Japan and worldwide. Specifically, we offer help to foreign residents living in Japan looking to purchase a car locally and export services for our overseas customers.
Since 2022 we have grown into a modest car dealership with a store in Saga prefecture.
Passion for Cars
When Mitch and Andrew first met, it was through the mutual love of cars. In particular, Japan’s extensive car scene. Having been a huge part of their lives, it created a friendship and business partnership that heavily revolved around the love of Showa and Heisei era Japanese cars.
Nowadays, this interest extends to all sorts of vehicles, both private and commercial. We’ve sold everything from cheap drift cars to show room spec examples.
Full Dedication
When Mitch first moved to Japan in 2015, he worked as a buying agent for a car export company in Tokyo. Then, in 2019, he also spent time working in a used car dealership and workshop, where his interests in the Japanese car industry grew.
Andrew, who had been interested in Japanese cars since the early 2000s, visited Japan for the first time in 2010. Visiting a few times every year after that became part of normal life. Living out of Hiroshima and Osaka, Andrew was able to build connections and learn many of the processes required for car ownership to exports.
Andrew and Mitch both reside in Saga prefecture in southern Japan, where they run Showa Corporation’s main store. This serves as their workshop and office which provides customers a place to relax while discussing the purchase of their dream car.
